Software Developers Needed
Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting additional programmers.
We use the latest and greatest technologies, so working for Digital Morphosis involves a steep learning curve. We expect our staff to want to learn and to demonstrate good progress within the first 3 months of working for us. You will be provided with on the job training and mentoring as well as access to a large library of technical text books.
We offer flexible working hours and the option to work from home for those suitably motivated. We provide high spec machines with dual 24" monitors and an informal but productive working environment at our office near Monmouth (commutable from South Wales and Gloucester). Our development approach uses the best from Agile and Extreme Programming techniques including Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, Test First, Unit Testing, Acceptance Testing and Automation
We develop primarily in Java and more recently Grails. A basic knowledge of the language is important, though commercial experience in other languages will also be considered.
Experience or exposure in any of the following technologies would be beneficial:
- Agile development practices including test-driven development with JUnit and similar technologies
- Java enterprise development with Spring, Hibernate & Tomcat
- Clean standards-based (X)HTML, CSS and JavaScript (especially jQuery or similar JavaScript frameworks)
- MySql and/or Postgres databases
- Lucene / SOLR
- Shell based Linux Server Administration
